Shizhuo Guide

Shizhuo (石棹 / Shizhao) sits on the Alishan Highway in Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. Taiwan Obsessed and trail blogs place high-mountain oolong plantations and family guesthouses on the slope above the bus stop, not inside the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area itself. Every Chiayi-Alishan bus passes the stop; the ride onward to the recreation area is about 45 minutes. Soft guides describe five short linked trails (Mist, Tea, Cloud, Sunset, Sakura), with Tea Trail the longest near 1.8 km.

This guide is the tea-trail overnight base. It is not an Alishan Forest Recreation Area sunrise mega-guide. It is not a Fenqihu railway-town page.

One night covers an afternoon trail loop and tea-farm lodging. Two nights fit Fenqihu or a recreation-area day without rushing. A week only works as a wider Chiayi highland circuit. Food is tea-house and homestay cooking; do not invent a restaurant strip.

Arrive by bus from Chiayi or Alishan. Many guesthouses sit 15-30 minutes uphill from the stop; request pickup when possible. On site you walk trail connectors and steep farm roads. Expect mist and cool evenings.
