Filband Guide

Filband (Fīlband) is a village in Bandpey-ye Gharbi District of Babol County, Mazandaran Province, Iran. Visit Iran and ITTO place it near 2300 m as an eastern roof of Mazandaran. The 2016 census counted 148 people in 55 households. Winters arrive early and empty the village for long stretches; spring and summer are the practical visitor window for the cloud layer that settles in the valleys below.

A long day from Amol or Babol covers the viewpoint if roads are open. One overnight fits sunrise above the clouds in summer. A week only works inside a wider Caspian highland circuit. Food is simple village dairy and bread; do not invent restaurant rows.

Living in Tehran soft routing puts Tehran around 190 km via Haraz toward Amol, then Chalav and the Filband road; blogs also cite roughly 55 km from Amol and 85 km from Babol. Drive with mountain caution; winters can close the road. On arrival you walk between cottages and viewpoints.
